New Beginnings

Have you ever wondered why there are people in the world who, clearly, have more talent in their little finger than that combined of their whole family tree? Like, what made them so special? I know someone like that. In fact, she is someone I would call my inspiration. My muse. Luckily, she is not in my family tree. Because if she were, then I would have no business being here writing anything, ever. Luckily, my inspiration believes in me too. She keeps telling me, "You have so much talent and you're all corked up. Tap in to that deep well of yours and get it out!"

Which brings me to why I am here, telling what seems to already be a short novel. I venture into the world of blogs and all things internet on a whim. Maybe not a whim, per say, because I have my inspiration, remember? But rather in an attempt to pull myself from the mundane and rather gray, boring life I seem to have gotten myself in the rut of.

I work a stabilized 8 to 5, and am ever-so happily married to the man of my dreams. I even jump into an occasional Crossfit class (because it's all the rage these days) after work at 7pm. But no matter how firm and perky my buns are, there is still that hungry ache in my spirit. One only an artistic outlet can soothe. One which I am so excited to finally share!

For Christmas my funny-honey, handsome-hubby gave to me an amazing moment capturing machine! So far, I have only owned and operated this piece of geniusness for a matter of 72 hours. Total. No matter, this hunk of metal and glass and all things mechanical has stolen my heart. I feel like a young schoolgirl who cannot wait to wake up in the morning to get all dolled up in order to catch the apple of her eye for a brief moment on the bus.

Only I am not the one getting dolled up. And my camera isn't going anywhere. The world around me has suddenly taken on a brighter, more magical hue. I find myself getting up close and personal with objects I never would have found beautiful 3 days ago. Seriously an onion? Holiday Nuts? And what about that old ornament that has been on our tree for years? I'm not talking about my mother. My mother is the light in my eyes and is whom should always have her picture taken because she is so beautiful. Wouldn't you agree?

Please share with me in my journey to becoming, what I hope to be, an inspiration to those who have always thought and talked about taking up a hobby, but have never found just the right time. My advice? There is no way to plan these things, you must just take them. So get out there and take them. Uncork all that bottled up creativity and do with it what you will. Me? I chose photography. What will you choose?
